Meet the Photographer
Hey, my name is Matt, and I'm glad that you're here.

About Me
My photographic roots are planted in the North Georgia and Southeast Tennessee landscapes that I grew up in. I wouldn't call myself an avid outdoorsman, but hiking and kayaking have always been a way for me to decompress and clear my mind, and in doing so, I developed a desire to photograph the landscapes around me. What started as a hobby slowly morphed into a business over the years, and in 2023, I started working on this full-time.
In my photography work, my favorite genres are live events, which allow me to capture authentic smiles; commercial product shoots, where I can experiment with unique lighting; professional models, who offer incredible creative freedom; and landscapes, which undoubtedly provide the ultimate office views.
I'm a father to a really amazing little girl who is always my model when I get new photography gear, and I have an incredible wife who has been gracious enough to let me pursue my passions. I could not do it without her help and encouragement.
THE STEADFAST NAME
The concept behind Steadfast was born out of a desire for a brand name that extended beyond my own identity and represented my intention of capturing authentic moments beautifully: consistently.
Steadfast: loyal, unwavering, not subject to change.
When I initially began learning photography, I had no idea if my work would ever have an audience, let alone develop into a viable career. "Steadfast" is far from what I feel that I am, but the name is a constant reminder of what I want to be.
My Artistic Style
Leaning into the Steadfast name, I am always searching for a balance between a stylistic and timeless look. In general, my style is contrasty, with rich but accurate colors, and soft black and white's. As AI has risen in popularity, I find myself leaning more into the "imperfections" of traditional film: grain, halation, and bloom.
In terms of art direction, my goal is to be unintrusive, give more prompts rather than specific poses, and capture more candid moments. I intend to capture the look and feel of the day while providing subtle artistic direction.
